If only all hotels were like this. A brand new unit, spearheaded by the grandson of Holiday Inn founder Mr. Wilson himself, this hotel radiates excellence throughout. from the initial check-in, where Olivia kindly gave me a room facing away from the interstate, to assistance with the business center/additional keys/directions to restaurants/business throughout town, the staff is efficient without being marmy, patient while not being slow, and unobtrusive in the best possible manner. The lobby entrance is being mopped every thirty minutes, it seemed! The elevators are sleek and quick, the room is large (by Holiday Inn standards), the bathrooms are amazing, and the flat-screen has an amazing selection of channels (for the price). Most importantly, the coffee packs included with the upscale coffee maker are better than even Starbucks or the 4-star Hyatt Regency (New Brunswick, NJ)! The buffet breakfast is excellent, including walnuts as a topping for the cereal. The towels are soft, the bedsheets even softer, all matching the soft personality of the staff. The only reminder that this star hotel shares anything in common with any other 3-star hotel or Holiday Inn hotel is the toiletries, all stamped Holiday Inn. In comparison, the Holiday Inn in Grantsburg, PA where I had the indignity of staying only 2 days prior, was one of the worst hotels in the US that I have ever visited. Impeccable attention to detail -- service, amenities, TV, pool/jacuzzi, weight room -- excellence throughout. No happy hour specials.
