The walls at the Days Inn are thin. We were awakened from 3:00 am to 5:26 am to the moans and shouts in the adjacent room. My wife covered our 5 year old daughters ears. We did not want to spoil their fun. We started to call the front desk at 5:26 am then it stopped. At 9:25 am Housekeeping knocked on the door, completely ignoring the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. I was in the shower, but I let my wife and daughter sleep since the noise in the next room kept them awake earlier. My wife went to the door with her night mask on and it should have been clear she was awakened. The housekeeper said something about checking out and my wife explained it was not 11:00 am yet. Housekeeping knocked 3 more times within a 10 minutes time period. By the time I got out of the shower my wife was very distraught and upset by the constant door knocking. Then, the phone starts ringing only to be welcomed by a hangup call. It was not getting any better, so I disconnected the telephone and explained to my wife we needed to leave the hotel. My wife said the housekeeper apologized on the 4th knocking instance stating that our room had been marked as checked out. This should have been clear on the first knock. The lady at the front desk was nice. I explained the situation and it was met with did you call the front desk. Really. I explained we got past the noisy couple in the next room, but housekeeping was completely out of line by knocking on our door consistently. She explained it was her mistake as she marked our room as checked out. I explained that once would have been tolerated but knocking on our door 3 additional instances was not acceptable. She apologized, but that did not help the lack of rest my family lost in the process. It was clean.
