I arrived at the hotel at 11:30 pm and had come from another Ramada in Virginia where we had no problem. The hotel clerk gave me the key and as my family and I were taking our belongings out of our car. They made no sense and made us very uncomfortable. There was also an arrest in progress in the parking lot. This appeared to be a welfare hotel. I entered the room, which was supposed to be smoke free. It smelled very strong of smoke and was overall plain disgusting. We never put our stuff down. We left and stayed at a hotel down the road. The hotel was not a positive experience. Hotel was unsafe. Room was disgusting and smelled of smoke. People in vicinity were undesirable. Very unsafe. customer rating 4.5 out of 5 More bang for the buck. The staff was very friendly. My room key was deactivated prematurely.
