Customer Reviews for Loews Regency Hotel New Yorkcustomer rating 3.5 out of 5 Overall the hotel was very nice and staff was very accommodating. I did ask for a room change because of the strong odor in the room. The front desk told me the hotel was full, so they couldn't switch rooms. I suspected it ' was because I was already getting the room pretty cheap, so they didn't want to end up giving me a nicer room. Instead, they provided me with an air purifier and some anti-smoke deodorizer spray to help get rid of the nauseating odor in the room. . After keeping both the purifier and the a/c running continuously for two days, the room finally smelled okay. Oh yeah, I also kept a scented candle burning while in the room. . Except for the first two days, everything was perfect and thought I made out pretty well with this hotel. Now if I had to pay $300 a night, the cigarette smell would not have been acceptable at all. Room was quiet and comfortable. The hallway and Room had a very strong odor from smoking, even though I was told the entire hotel was non-smoking. customer rating 4.5 out of 5 Nice rooms, good location, and pretty. Only one working elevator. customer rating 2.5 out of 5 Staff did their best to accommodate our dissatisfaction with the quality of the room. Was barely a two-star hotel.
