The in room amenities include Belgian linen, two line telephone featuring voice mail and data ports, Color TV with cable, in-room movies, and Nintendo games, alarm clock with CD player, hair dryer, and iron, ironing board. Non smoking rooms are available. We are also in the process of installing Wireless Internet, which will be available in the near future at a minimal additional charge. Other amenities the hotel offers are free daily newspaper and a 24 hour free cappuccino and tea machine. The rooms are a bit small, that said they were also very clean and modern. The alarm clock had an iPod/iPhone dock which was a lifesaver considering I had forgotten to pack my iPhone charger. The staff and the front desk were very helpful when I asked for help navigating the city's subway system. Not only did they give me a map of the subway but they marked for me the location of the hotel and all of the places I wanted to go, and then explained it all to me and gave me tips and suggestions on planning the most efficient tour. All in all this is an excellent hotel, if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in great location with clean rooms and great service and are willing to put up with a small room (who goes to New York to sit in a hotel room?) Then the Amsterdam Court cannot be beat. The location, the cleanliness, the 5 star staff customer rating 3 out of 5 The rooms are very small, The service was very slow. No blackout curtains as stated on the hotel site. The construction next door start at 7am and we had a room right next to it. The heat only worked when it wanted to, so we were cold most of the time. Had never heard of this hotel, but photos looked ok and price was great for NYC. Arrived early day of check-in, staff could not have been friendlier. They stored my luggage, moved my room up the que to be cleaned and ready for me, gave me excellent directions. Location was great, quick walk to Times Square, Rockfeller Center, subway on the same block. Construction on adjacent building that went on all night! This Hotel will be PERFECT 10 when that is done.
