The room size. customer rating 3.5 out of 5 The Ameritania Hotel is located centrally in midtown Manhattan. It has a large lobby painted in red with chrome accents. In our floor the accessories in the hallway were also silver-painted. Our room was small, which is expected but everything looked clean which is the most important consideration for us when staying in an older or a rehabbed hotel. The room was decorated in tones of brown, white, and silver. It had a large flat screen, but no refrigerator. There were minimal space for storing clothing, which was OK for us because we were staying 1 night only. Although the initial greeter was rude, another person we approached on our way out was more helpful. At our request, she recommended a place we could go for drinks and dance in the evening. It was located about 12 blocks from Penn Station and a few blocks from the theater we were attending. Besides the rudeness of the initial desk greeter, the fact that she took a long time registering us.
