Parking was on-site and did not have an extra charge for it -- which was nice. It's old and not really very pleasant in the rooms. customer rating 3.5 out of 5 During our stay at this hotel we found that the rooms were very small. The room was also out dated and would benefit from some remodeling. Due to it's location it was difficult to get a restful nights sleep. There is a local hospital near the hotel and emergency vehicles were constantly driving by, not to mention a consistent flow of traffic. However, the hotel staff was great and accommodating. The next time we stay downtown Des Moines it will be at another hotel. Preferably one that serves a complementary breakfast. The hotel staff was very friendly and worked hard to make your stay a good one. The location of this hotel was very loud and it was hard to get a restful nights sleep. customer rating 3 out of 5 This is definitely not the first choice of business travelers with business in the downtown. The room was clean and well furnished, but the open closet area and the rusting metal frame and towel rack in the bathroom were off putting. Definitely not three-star. Free parking. A mile from downtown; rooms are plaster over concrete, open closet area, bathroom metal furnishings rusted.
