Hot tub was not working. too small of plates for breakfast.. customer rating 5 out of 5 New and very clean. I actually lived in this town most of my life and worked in that area. The hotels in this area are all somewhat new, but the rates at Best Western were the lowest, but the quality was excellent. If I need a hotel again I will use this one first. Very clean, helpful staff on both morning and evening shifts. Very good breakfast. Inconsiderate guest parking large truck horizontally taking up several parking places in front of room doors. customer rating 0.5 out of 5
I always go at least 2-1/2 stars so that I can expect some degree of hospitality and cleanliness. Arrived at 2:30 AM after a 14-hour shift & driving 130 miles hoping to get 4 hours sleep before another 14-hour shift. I couldn't find the front desk. That's because it was locked. I had to speak to the clerk through a little window like I was in a seedy hotel in downtown New York City. He said they've had 2 armed robberies because they're right on the state line and the police can't pursue into Indiana. Took his time checking me in. Failed to tell me that the room entrance was on the exterior (that's a motel, right, not a hotel). But that's only for the first floor rooms. The 2nd floor rooms are on the interior with a hallway with stairs on each end just like a traditional hotel. To add to the confusion, the 1st floor rooms are on the backside of the hotel, so you don't know they're back there unless someone tells you. Lugging my things around in the middle of the night in freezing weather from one end of the building to the other & back again. I finally lost my temper with him the third time I had to ask for directions. Laid in bed praying for sleep but couldn't because I expected the local police to pound on my door any minute. Then he just glared at me in the morning when I turned in my keys. I fully expect to find some illegal charges on my credit card. All I needed from this hotel on this trip was to check in as quickly as possible and get to sleep as quickly as possible. What happened couldn't have been any further from that. They do have an indoor pool and a small fitness room. The lobby seemed nice (once I got past security). I definitely didn't feel safe being on the backside of a building that has been held up twice. It's also in the middle of nowhere. There are no businesses around, just other hotels and the interstate. I would avoid it if possible. For what I needed on this trip, there was absolutely nothing that was good. Front desk locked, room entrance on exterior, desk clerk threatened me, no restaurants for miles.
