I called the front desk to confirm that I had booked a non-smoking room. I had, the front desk was very polite and immediately assigned me to another room that was clean and did not smell of smoke. I was dismayed to learn from another couple in our group that they had been originally assigned that same room and were reassigned when they complained of the smell. Shame on the front desk for trying to assign a room that clearly needed to be cleaned and the smoke smell removed. One wing was under construction and the construction folks were loud (yelling from the third floor to the ground floor) very early Saturday morning and debris from the renovation should have been a bit more cleared up than it was.
