The room was next to the lobby and therefore very noisy. The lobby and breakfast area were well maintained and clean. I will stay there again, but hope to get a room that is brighter as there were very few lights, so it was dim and hard to see even with all the lamps on. Staff was nice and friendly. We booked this room having very few other options. We needed to be in Salinas for 2 nights. Apparently when the races are on they jack the prices up 200%. The sink was stopped up with hair an who knows what else, and even after informing the desk It had a room customer rating 1.8 out of 5 We were looking for a place of reasonable price and quality as a stopover between Santa Cruz and Monterey. We will keep looking as this hotel did not meet our expectations, particularly for food (food and food service was poor at the hotel and the diner close by). A good cup of coffee was not found at the hotel or anywhere on our route out of Salinas. The hotel room was quiet and clean. The continental breakfast was chaotic, poorly stocked and not kept clean and tidy.
